Florman, Monte, Consumer Reports Books
One Consumer Reports Book, ''The Medicine Show,'' is available in bookstores in an edition published by Pantheon. But more than 1 million copies are given away each year as a premium to subscribers to the magazine.
Consumer Reports Books, until now available mainly to subscribers of Consumer Reports magazine, will soon be available in book stores and other retail outlets. With 16 commissioned book salesmen plus distribution by Harper & Row, the restructured book company has also moved its editorial office from Mount Vernon, N. Y., to midtown Manhattan, where it soon plans to publish about 25 titles a year.
